Many of you who read this will quickly discern this letter was not written using a Montgomery Ward Signature 510 typewriter. The original letter to the B’Laster Corporation was written with the 510 however I have misplaced the photograph of the letter so I reproduced it today using my 1961 Olympia SG-1. (Thankfully I had scanned the photograph and using Google’s OCR have the text of the letter stored on my Macbook Pro. The synergies of a digital/analog handshake!) Why the SG-1? Simply it’s the machine I am using right now.
I received the “Blaster” stickers and the hat yesterday in response to me letter. This is another testament to the power of the written (typewritten) word to communicate with other humans. There is no greater power and no greater joy.
